I view every creative project as my opportunity to change the world.

Welcome to a slice of my brain.

Directing; Acting; Live Music; Puppetry; they’re all from the same deep well. As long as we have integrity in our process and work to access an audiences creativity, the results will be worthwhile.

As creatives there’s an impulse to specialize. Any dip into other forms will diminish the power to perfect our craft. That has never been my experience. While skill is paramount to creating good Art, creativity isn’t a bottle of red wine. Meaning there isn’t a finite amount of the good stuff. As a new glass appears there’s always, as if by magic, another bottle to help fill it up. If we unplug and dig deep we’ll be fine.

I also have the pleasure of working with the city of Aurora as an “arts consultant” of sorts. Part of that is curating programming content for The People’s Building, an experimental project to help independent artists and small to mid-sized nonprofits gain access to affordable performance and streaming space.

Theatre was my first love. As a kid in rural Ohio, I was fortunate enough to have a mentor at The Ohio State University who took an active interest in teaching young folks the power of a collaborative process. Because of him and countless others since, I’ve been blessed with a career in theatre that has always kept me busy.

As I age, it becomes less about the size of the venue and more about working with people who have passion for what they do and are dedicated to crafting an experience that allows for their audience’s imagination.

A few years ago I left my home in NYC to explore the mountains and have settled in Denver, CO where I’ve been fortunate to work at some of the best theaters in the country.

If you have an AEA contract, want some live Irish music, are looking for a director, or need a puppet designer/coordinator, I’d love to talk… preferably over a good whiskey and next to a fireplace. If there’s a dog nearby, even better.
